I walk along the fog-enshrouded street
nodding to all the passing people that I meet,
and bidding well all those drunks who pass by,
while muttering their curses to the dark empty sky.

I walk among the lovers bound hand-in-hand
and those lovers embracing barely able to stand.
I pass them all and begin to slowly smile
as I trudge along that last lonely mile.

And I tell myself that it will be okay,
that I shall meet someone along the way.
Even though I know this through and through
The one I love makes my heart purple and blue

Like gravity holds together
the infinite stars shining above.

There is that tight bond
